Messages disappearing from Inbox

At the start of this week all the messages disappeared from my Inbox and all I had was a red-lined box saying 'No messages in this folder'. Lots of once deleted messages reappeared in the Trash and Spam boxes, the sidebar with the number of messages updated but I couldn't see new ones, though I could Compose and Send messages. The email App was working as normal and I could see all messages there. Yesterday the Inbox reappeared, but as soon as I deleted a message it went back to all messages disappearing, happened twice now. Tried 3 operating systems and 4 browsers and no difference between them.

Online chat with 3 separate 'Guides' was no use so I took the option of raising a Complaint but the only response I have had so far is to ask me if I want to close it. Anyone had similar or have any suggestions as to cause?
