Good Afternoon,

Oh what a difference a full stop makes....

BT allows us to have 10 email addresses.

I have set up a Microsoft 365 Family with my son as a user. His Microsoft email adress is FirstNameLastName@btinternet.com

However, I cannot set that email up in MYBT because MYBT says it is already in use.

When I set this up a few years ago noticed the mistake and worked around by giving him InitialsLastName@btinternet.com

Now I want to set up a second computer and have him able to sync MS accounts between the two - but MS sends info to FirstNameLastName@btinternet.com and it won't deliver becasue BT won't let me have it.

MYBT is happy for me to have FirstName.LastName@btinternet.com

I can't see how someone else could actually have FirstNameLastName@btinternet.com if is has been associated with his MS Account several years

Is there anyway of getting BT to say "actually mate, someone else really does have that email" or even better "Oops sorry - our bad - of course you can have FirstNameLastName@btinternet.com"

I've been going round in circles for some time now and would apprecisate any holp you can offer

kind regards

Tom

Just change the MS account name.

You could never have received emails from MS at firstnamelastname if you hadn't set it up with BT.

I can't see how you could have created the account with MS with that username, the confirmation email would have gone to that address which is owned by someone else.

I think I have solved it.

I used to have it - and used it to set up the MS family account - but it became inactive and BT closed it down. I have been in touch with BT and they will reissue it.

Seems a bit daft that there isn't a simple "reactivate" button on the MYBT site/

Thank you for your time

Tom
