Scam BT Email

I received an Email a few weeks ago from BT about confirming the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It said that if I did not confirm, my email account would be closed on11th December. It hade a link which I did not click. I was suspicious and sent it to ‘phishing@bt’.

This morning I received another email reminding me that I did not respond to their previous email and that I would not be able to use my Email account after December if I did not confirm. It had another link.
Again I sent it to phishing @ bt.

However, I have a nagging doubt that it might be genuine.

Ps On checking the ‘sender’ address it came up with an ‘employee’ name @btinternet.com.

The second email gave an’employee’ name @bt.internet.com.

Any comments?

Generally, if the email starts off with for example, 'Dear Customer' my personal action, is to immediately bin it and report it where necessary. As always, never click on links from any sender you have suspicions over, but you clearly already know that.

The term ‘Dear Customer’ added to my suspicion. I also, rightly or wrongly, assume that a genuine company would contact me by another means if they were concerned about a lack of response to their communication.
