There have been similar reports on Apple forums.

It appears that the fix is to Force Restart your iPad

The 26.2 is a major system update, a standard "slide to power off" often isn't enough to clear cached background processes that handle URL redirection.

Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.

Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.

Press and hold the Top button (Power button) until the Apple logo appears, then release.

If the above does not resolve it you should also clear your web browser's History and Cache

Go to Settings > Apps > Safari.

Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.

Select "All History" and tap Clear History.

My iPad automatically updated recently to IOS 26.2.

Since then if I click on a link in an email nothing happens and I have to open the web site manually.

Anyone know why this is? It’s very frustrating M

That doesn’t seem to solve it!
Maybe they’ll come up with a fix.

Don't know how these weird Apple devices work, but try pressing the Ctrl key when clicking on the link.
