Font size (again)

I have seen several questions about font size, but no answers, except that it might be a bug. But that was ages ago and it should have been fixed by now.

When I start to type an email the size is 18, but when I copy and paste any text into it, it appears much smaller, size 12 or 14. Sometimes the font size changes when I go to a new paragraph. But not every time. I use a standard signature at the end of every email: Regards (new line) Albert H. I delete my surname if I am emailing a friend. This appears in a small font size. When I click on it to find out what size it is, I get a tick next to 'Default'. I have been to 'Settings' , but I can't find anything there to set my default font size. What's going on? What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried going into your web browser's settings and clearing your web browser's history and cookies?

If you decide to try that make sure that you select the option "Clear All Time" if your browser offers that option.

No, I haven't tried that. It would not occur to me.

Why is it important to "Clear all time" if the option is there?

Because it will clear all the cookies and history from all time because if there is a faulty/stale cookie causing this issue you have no idea when it arrived on your device.

Firefox is my usual web browser. How do I find its settings? I don't speak computer.

You can access Firefox's cookie and cache settings my selecting the 3 line menu icon along the top of a Firefox browser page, then settings, then Privacy and Security. You can then click Clear browsing data to clear all your data or Manage Browsing data will allow you to select just the ones for the BT site if you wanted.

Is it via the BT website that you access and compose your e-mails not any client like outlook etc? Have you tested composing an e-mail using a browser like Chrome to confirm if it is just happening with Firefox?

I don't know how I access and compose emails. I don't think I use Outlook, as I've never heard of it. When I hover over the tab for my email I see https://email.bt.com/mail/index-rui.jsp?v=2.27.1#app/mail

I guess that means I am on BT's website. I haven't tested on Chrome. Will do. Thanks again.

@Bert4545 Thanks for clarifying, yes it will just be webmail via the BT website using your browser in that case, not any client.

Is that a saved link you have for the e-mail? As it looks like the version number (2.27) is an older one, it should re-direct you to the latest platform anyway, but as well as the other things to try to narrow down the issue, its worth accessing webmail by going to the BT website and then clicking e-mail in the top right and login to see if there is any difference vs accessing it via your saved link.

I just went to bt.com then >email. I got the same url when I hovered over the tab: 2.27.

@Bert4545 As long as you have accessed it via the BT website rather than a saved link, that is the main thing to make sure that was not causing any issues. Then as I say give another browser a try when you have the chance.
