Since 01 April my Thunderbird mail client on Linux will not download new mails, although I can see them on my Spark mail app on Android. I get no error messages. Is there a setting I need to change or do I just wait? I've joined this community simply to ask this question. I have been a BT Broadband customer continually since 2000.

These are the existing settings that have worked for years. I use POP3 and don't leave copies on the server (my choice). I suspect something has changed since 1st April.

Is the Android app set to IMAP or POP3?

I use Outlook 2010 set to POP3 without leaving a copy on the server and that works fine.

Wonder if there was a change to Thunderbird

I solved it by turning off my VPN. Thanks for the help. I'm sure it used to work with the VPN previously so it may be changes on their service that I need to examine. It still retrieved 2 Gmail accounts (also POP3) which is why I wrongly suspected BT.
