Missing secondary email address - how do I 'claim' it and then gift it as an affiliate account?

My partner uses an email address that we setup years ago when we first moved to BT. It was a secondary address to the main address.

However that address doesn't appear in the list of email addresses that can be managed when I go into the MyBT /manage emails area in the app/ website.

But, when the address gets any security alerts or needs an authentication code, they come to my email/ recovery address at the primary account. Which indicates they are somehow linked in the background.

Question: how can I add/ claim/ find the address so I can then gift it so it can be managed and recovered independently?

I have read various help pages on gifting etc, but none seem to quite match my issue.

I don't believe that it's possible to merge these accounts automatically, but I'm keen to see if there's anything we can sort at our end.
