554 Message rejected for policy reasons (2.1.2.3)

Our choir uses a gmail account to communicate with our members. Last week we sent an email attaching an mp3 file with a rehearsal track for the piece we are singing.

This seems to have triggered a problem with our members who use BT email accounts, not only for the message with the mp3 file, but for all subsequent emails sent to them. For each of them we receive the error message.

554 Message rejected for policy reasons (2.1.2.3)

The workaround generally suggested (i.e. to ask those with BT accounts to remove the offending email address from their Blocked Senders list) does not work. I tested it with one of our members, but he had no email addresses at all on his Blocked Senders list. Adding our address to his Safe Senders list did not work either.

Is the policy reason quoted blocking the emails at a higher level in BT? If so, what do I have to do to get our email address back on a white list?

Please remove your email address. It is against forum rules plus it is a public forum which could result in you getting more spam than you can handle if the address is harvested by spammers.

Try contacting the BT Postmaster requesting they white list your email account
