Yesterday i updated my iPhone 16 to IOS27 and now i cant access my emails on that phone. Whenever i login it says my account is locked out for 20 minutes. This is the same if i try to login on safari webmail and the new bt mail app. I can still get my emails through outlook on my pc but cant access them through webmail on the pc during the lockout. My iPad (IOS26) can still access emails through apple mail app so the problem seems to be IOS27 and bt authentication related. I know the password is correct as i manually type it into pc webmail when im outside the lockout. And the 20 minute lockout seems to last longer.

Maybe it isn’t actually Apple’s fault. I’ve just looked at the so called ‘new’ BT Mail App in the Apple Store and the last time the developers updated the Mail App appears to have been six months ago with version 25.4.0 released on 30 March 26 being the ‘latest’ update.

Many other App developers out there are constantly updating their Apps to keep up with Apple’s robust security updates and features. If the BT Mail App isn’t being checked and worked on on a regular basis, then it’s not inconceivable that the actual problem lies with BT’s own Mail App.
