The simplest answer is to use a corded phone plugged into the green socket at the rear of the hub during a power cut with the hub and ONT powered by a UPS. Alternatively use the UPS to power the cordless base station as well as the hub and ONT.

I'm considering getting full fibre with phone, i'm planning on using my own cordless phones with the Digital voice service.

By what ive read these obviously will not work in the event of a power cut, I noticed in the process of making the order BT offer a Battery Backup wich keeps the Digital voice powered for an hour, it also states that it come with a digital voice phone is this a solution to make a call in a power outage.

As long as your hub and ONT are powered you will be able to make calls.

Whether they are powered by BTs expensive units or by a third party UPS system is irrelevant.

The fact you using a cordless DECT phone currently, that you say you want to keep using should you move to DV and or FTTP , you presumably obviously are fairly relaxed about power outages or you would have a corded phone and not a cordless one ( obvious your DECT phone won’t work without mains ) so why does the prospect of FTTP/ DV cause you any extra angst ? , not having telephony during a power outages presumably is normal for you , irrespective of how likely a power outage is , so why do you need any extra precautions just because of FTTP/DV ?

thank you for responding My current phone is BT 3110 but from my research, it seems that I can't pair this one to my hub or use the green socket in the back of the hub?

Right, first of all if you wish to continue using your handset with the existing base, simply plug the base into the green socket on the hub.

This thread is about using your phones in a power cut. To do that you need to power your hub (and if you have FTTP, the ONT) by means if a UPS.

If you wish to connect your existing handsets directly to the hub without connecting the base to the hub green socket, re-register the handset from the 3110 base and register it to the hub by pressing the WPS button on the hub and following the instructions on page 37 of the manual linked below.

https://telephonesuk.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/BT3110-User-Guide.pdf
