Calling out from contacts list

Hello, heard good things about this place so I’m hopeful for an idea!

In the last 2 weeks our BT 8600 series call guardian phones stopped calling out from a number on the contacts list. If you manually dial a number despite it being a contact, it’ll ring out. If you try to call out from the contacts list nine times out of ten it’ll go straight back to the dialling tone.

Initially thinking the phones were goosed as they’re 9 years old we bought new BT Premium cordless phones (assuming rebadged 8600’s) and we’re still having the same problem.

Today an engineer came out and replaced the main phone line from outside to the box inside and still the same problem tonight. Seems to be very hit and miss whether it’ll work or not.

Not on digital voice yet, standard connection through the supplied splitter/filter.

Have you been back in touch with our broadband tech guides and let the know the problem is still happening after the engineer has been?

They will certainly see what the next steps will be to help you get the calling out from your contacts working again.

Yeah we’ll be in touch again today but we were told their fix would sort it so we assume they haven’t a clue at this point. Thought I’d try here anyway as it seems very populated and I hope someone may have had a similar issue in the past.
