You need to set 1571 to maximum number of rings before answering and the answering machine to fewer rings so that it answers first.

I've migrated to Digital Voice. My BT PSTN phone (which had answerphone facilities) is plugged into the phone socket on my Halo 3 service Broadband Hub. Most old facilities work OK but the answerphone doesn't. I can pick up voice mail messages on 1571 but the answerphone tells me I have no messages. The phone display tells me the answerphone is on. How can it be made to "intercept" the 1571 messages, please?

Thank you Liquorice. Apologies I spotted the solution in the FAQs eventually. I have set 1571 to maximum and the Answerphone to 7 rings which was the maximum number of rings that managed to beat 1571 to a response.
