why don't you phone CS 03301234150 and ask for a free digital voice adapter. that way you just plug that into a mains outlet and then connect your existing phone to the adapter instead of green socket

you can try text 'ADAPTER' to 61998

RJ11 cable 2 or 4 pin

Hello. My phone handset is connected to my new Smart Hub2 using what I think is a RJ11/phone plug cable. It works, but this is not my problem. I wanted to position my handset further away from the router so I purchased a longer (7m) cable. When I plugged it into the back of my handset and the green phone port at the back of my router the phone did not work/get a dialling tone and the handset display said ‘no line’. When I examined the end of the new longer cable I noticed that it only had 2 metal pins showing whereas the shorter cable which worked had 4 metal pins. I purchased another cable but this also only had 2 pins showing at the end and once again did not work. I’m now assuming that I need a 4pin/wire cable for things to work. Can anyone confirm this as I am confused? Thank you

The phone only needs 2 wires but they need to be the right 2 pins.

As above, you only need two pins, so the number of wires isn't the issue, it's where they're connected at the RJ11 end.

https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Devices/BT4500-phone-problem-compatibility/m-p/2325721#M31055
