Hi. For the last few days, I've had this problem with my digital voice service.

1. I cannot make outgoing calls. There is no dial tone.

2. On incoming calls, the phone rings and the caller's number is displayed, but I cannot accept the call. Pressing the green phone button has no effect.

I have a BT hub and a BT Advanced Phone Z phone.

I've run BT's online phone diagnostics, but they didn't find anything. The internet diagnostics said that my internet connection isn't very good. But it told me a speed of over 30 Mbps, and I'm not experiencing any problems with web browsing and streaming.

Any help appreciated.

Power cycle the hub and the phone base …..if no difference and still NDT, try a different known working phone , (if you don’t have one possibly borrow one from a friend, neighbour or relative, or buy a cheap corded one to keep as a spare …..if that also the same (no improvement ) , report as faulty , you may need a replacement hub .

Aha! The old switch-it-off-and-on-again. Why didn't I think of that? It worked like a charm. Thank you!
