if you have moved provider from BT who is your new ISP? have you tried asking your question on their forum?

Connecting bedroom phone to router

I recently switched broadband supplier as copper cable (BT) to my home will soon be switched off and chose to opt for internet calls using my existing BT 3570 handset. So the handset now is connected to my modem using a double modem cable end (small square). This goes into the modem port which is a small rectangular box, itself connected to the main landline socket. So all is well. Upstairs I have a Binatone DECT phone which has a plug to power supply and the cable clips into a ADSL Filter which in turn connected to the BT socket. So, I think I need a new DECT phone as the display is blank on the Binatone phone and there is no dial tone. (its quite old) and my question is will a new DECT BT phone connect automatically to my modem? Not practical to use a cable to the mode so I believe there is a wireless adapter which will work? Thanks Michael.

I don’t know why you thought your copper pair was to be switched off , it wasn’t, the only thing switching off in the relatively near future is the PSTN ( the telephone equipment in your local exchange) and that is to be replaced by Digital Voice , as you have switched and presumably taken an IP telephony service from this new company ( or a third party VoIP provider ) this move to IP telephony clearly wasn’t the reason for you leaving BT and as stated your copper pair service was never going to be removed, so it’s odd you would post here on a BT customer forum once you are no longer a BT customer.

As far as connecting the telephone equipment you already owned to your new providers router or whatever that’s something you really would need to discuss with them , or their community forum if they have one , your issues are not really any concern of BT.
