Will the BT fibre digital phone equipment work on a non BT router?

If I change to full fibre broadband with phone and then use a non bt router, will the phone work using BT equipment sent? Or am I better just using BT broadband and another digital phone supplier e.g. Vonage home ?

Digital voice will only work with SH2 connected to ONT with FTTP if you want to keep number the separate VOIP provider is required numerous posts already about using SH2

As explained countless times on the forum and in the FAQ https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-phone-including-Digital/Digital-Voice-FAQs/td-p/2207485, BT Digital Voice will only work with the Smart Hub2.
