    <description>&lt;P&gt;Condolences on your loss.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The manual is &lt;A href="https://shop.bt.com/content/uni2/documentation/c5w2/bt1700_ug.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt; but it's not obvious if restoring the default message overwrites the recorded one. I would hope that it's retained so that you can switch between them, but that may not be the case. Maybe best if she does nothing until you can take a look armed with the relevant pages from the manual.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hi, my Mum has a BT1700 landline phone with answer machine. My Dad had recorded the outward welcome/answer message. Somehow my mum has replaced this message with the auto one, is there anyway we can get my Dad’s message back? An odd request but he’s recently passed away. @&amp;nbsp;Thanks&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Thank you for the manual and your kind words. I don’t want to touch anything as I’m hoping the message is stored somewhere and I can alternate between the 2, like you suggested…… fingers crossed!</description>
