Lost land line number

I transferred from Sky to BT and BT never requested my phoneline number and now it appears to be lost. How do I get this back as the contact bt phone line operators appear unable to get it back for me.

It was just from bt.com contact us details

If you mean who gave me it first, it was BT 27 years ago

Are you still living at the same address as when it was first issued?

Then it should be possible to request a renumber back to your original number, there would be a small charge for this.

It would need to be manually processed, so I have asked a moderator to assist. They should post on this thread.
