Validation of probable hoax call from 0796 ********

I received a probable hoax call this morning from 0796 ********. The caller claimed to be from BT and said there was a security problem with my Broadband with additional unauthorised IP addresses accessing it. I stalled by asking them to call back later as the caller claimed a validation text had been sent and wanted to check out. There was indeed a text in my mobile inbox from address "-BT-". It correctly states my user id and gives a 2 step authentification code. I remain deeply suspicious as the call is from a mobile which on searching is registered to a registered charity "RCCG PRAISE CHAPEL". I cant get through to anyone at BT to confirm this. Can anyone advise please?

Its a scam, please delete the number from the title and body of the post to stop anybody attempting to call it.

Its a 100% scam call.

The text is a fake call and can be generated if the scammer knows your email address.
