if you are getting digital voice with existing FTTC then your method will work but the phone cable needs to go from new phone socket to connection on back of hub - not back to master

if FTTP then you can connect socket on back of hub to phone socket in master

I'm getting Digital voice soon, and I would like to be prepared.

Currently my extensions are connected by a cable to my master socket.

Is it right all I need to do is to disconnect the two wires (of the extension cable) at position 2 and 5 from the inside part of the master socket.

Then connect these two wires into a BT extension socket such as a 2/3A, again at positions 2 and 5.

Then connect this socket either to the existing master socket or the digital voice of the smart hub 2, by a extension/patch lead.
