&lt;P&gt;The WPS has a dual function with SH2 it connects WiFi devices but when being used for DV then it connects using DECT.&amp;nbsp; You connect the adapter to hub using DECT and once connected you can plug into convenient power socket and then connect an existing old style phone&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;There are numerous posts on forum about adapter connecting using dect&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Digital Voice adapter won't pair with my Hub</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My DV is activated and I then bought a Voice Adapter. &amp;nbsp;I can't get the adapter to pair with my Hub. &amp;nbsp;Am I doing something wrong. &amp;nbsp;I press the pair button on the hub, then press and hold for 6 seconds the pair button on the adapter - light starts to flash green more quickly as it should. &amp;nbsp;I am still holding the pair button on the hub but have released as requested the pair on the adapter as it says to only hold for 6 seconds. &amp;nbsp;The light flashes green for a while and then reverts to the slow green flash - so isn't paired. It's supposed to be solid green if it is paired. &amp;nbsp;I have also tried it by releasing the Hub pair button once the light is flashing a faster green, but still no luck. &amp;nbsp;Can someone help me as I can't see what else I can do&lt;/P&gt;</description>

As you have bought one and not received a free one from BT it would be worth contacting them and asking for a DV phone rather than an adapter.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;have you tried connecting adapter to socket near the hub then going into hub manager , select phone number and then see if you can 'see' adapter then pair adapter that way&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;if it pairs then just move adapter to socket which you intend to use - always possible that adapter is to far from hub for dect connection&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I've been informed DV will be upon us; in the meantime I need to prepare/confirm the BT DV phone adapter will link to routers (netgear) other than BT SH2. Given the adapter relies on WPS should I assume no issue ?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The adapter connects to hub using DECT not WiFi so will not connect to different router. You need the SH2 connected to enable you to get DV&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm afraid what you state is wrong.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The DV Adapter User guide states it uses WPS to pair. Once 'paired' it can be moved elsewhere in the home....As this is WiFi it's no longer unique to SH2.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Whilst the adapters are Bluetooth and DECT I believe they are BTs own version and will only pair with the hub.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;A couple of observations. BT tech support (via online chat, yesterday) stated DV adapter can be used with non BT hub. Is BT tech support to be trusted? But more important probably if BT forcing all landlines/broadband users to have SH2. Will that get past the CMA (competition watchdog)?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;The subject has been debated to death on the forum. If you want BT proprietary VoIP (Digital Voice) you have to use the BT hub as the first device connected to line.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;BT are not forcing ‘all lines’ into using a SH2 , only BT customers that want to use BT for telephony using DV will have to use BT SH2 , after all if you chose to use BT , then requiring the SH2 is hardly an imposition, after all there are a huge amount of competing companies in this industry, don’t like BTs T&amp;amp;C’s there are umpteen other Communication Providers out there&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Old thread I know, but the topic is relevant.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BT have informed me that DV changeover will happen soon. Accordingly I have requested (and received) a DV adapter. However I cannot get it to pair with my SH2. (Doing the pair routine I see the quick flashing LED, then it seems to go solid for a short period, then it reverts to 0.5s on, 2s off).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If I go into my Hub Manager the Phone section is greyed out and says Not Configured, with nothing happening if I click on it, so I can't try the earlier advice to look in there. Does this stay greyed out until DV is actually activated for my line?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;TIA.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Edit: a search suggests this is the case.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Just to close this out (for anyone interested) ... my DV service went live this morning. (I got an email about my "broadband" service but I knew what it meant, and then a later email about DV). I checked my landline and it gave a dialling tone but didn't receive the call when I tried to call home from my mobile. I then plugged in the DV adapter and it connected straight away - it obviously remembered the connection settings from my previous attempts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I then did a test call (mobile to home) and all was OK, albeit the phone rings about 3 times as far as the mobile is concerned before the actual home phone rings.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
