You can try following these instructions for using the SH2 with your own router:

https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/Smart-Hub-2-and-Bridge-Mode/m-p/2307011#M203811

New FTTP with existing Unify USG but retaining the phone line?

We have just had FTTP installed (we didn't realise this would mean the VoIP phone line via the Smart Hub).

I have a Ubiquiti Unifi LAN currently (USG router, USW-24-POE PoE switch and UAP-AC-PRO Wifi Access Point) that is setup how I want it with several VLANs to segregate certain traffic from IoT devices and apply firewall rules that I don't want 'phoning home' etc

We need the phone line, so plugging the USG directly in to the ONT isn't an option. From reading around it seems that the BT Smart Hub 2 (home version) doesn't have any kind of bridge mode, although the Business version does. I thought maybe I could just buy one of those off eBay, but looking at the ports, I'm thinking the BT Business Smart Hub 2 might not be for FTTP (it has RJ11 and DSL splitter etc, plus no red WAN ethernet port on the back like the home version)

What are my best options for getting this set up without compromising the security and stability that we have enjoyed with the Unify setup, whilst retaining the working phone line? Expensive options or paying for extra VoIP services etc are not feasible currently.

The SH2 needs to be connected to ONT by ethernet if you want to use digital voice

The digital voice FAQ should help

There is no other option if you want to use the residential BT Digital Voice service. This has already been discussed at length, on this forum.

See https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/Ubiquiti-and-BT-Hub-2-for-digital-voice/m-p/2239850

https://community.bt.com/t5/Archive-Staging/Ubiquiti-USG-with-FTTP-using-the-Smart-Hub-2-because-of-Digital/td-p/2180474

BT Business use a different system called Cloud Voice, but that uses dedicated IP phones which plug into the local LAN.
