Digital Voice battery back-up

DV is imminent and we have BT4600 phones but I'm unsure what power supply back-up arrangements are available to us.

Does BT have a back-up unit that would power both the router and the BT4600 base unit during a power cut or is it simply to maintain power to the router?

Also is the router always fed from the back-up unit and switches automatically on loss of supply or does it have to be done manually?

I'm aware that the loss of the phone power supply could be managed by switching to a corded phone temporarily.

We live in a semi rural area where power cuts are not unknown and my wife has medical issues that eliminate the use of a mobile phone.
