Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

Its not possible to do it any other way, apart from the BT Supplied Smart Hub 2, which uses DECT not Wi-Fi.

The only other option would be to use a third party VOIP provider and their ATA adapter.

Device to connect a phone after analogue switch off

When the analogue phone system is switched off I'd like to still be able to use one analogue phone line which is connected to my burglar alarm.

The problem is that my router does not have a phone socket. This is a high end router and I don't want to swap it for my inferior ISP router which does have a socket.

Is there a wi-fi device available that will enable you to connect an analogue phone anywhere in the house that will then connect to the internet through the existing router?

Thanks

Robin
