Everyday Phone with basic call blocking

So, the phone rings; it's the Damp / Mould Reported in your Igloo Scam. I informed the caller that they were scammers, and hung up. I reported the call to the BT Scam Call url.
I've had this cheapest basic call blocker phone for a while; so, can I block the number. Referring to the Quick Guide, I managed to complete all the steps to block future calls. The phone indicates, 'CALL BLOCK ON'. But, here's the questions:-
1. Is the phone a stand-alone call-blocker ? What does it do to block calls ?
2. Do I have to sign-up to more BT Services for the Call-Blocking to be fully functional ?
3. What happens to an i/c blocked call. No tone, Ring trip ?
Any info would be appreciated.

I decided to trial the Call-Blocker Handset , using a spare mobile number. Followed the 'add new block number path'. OK.
'CALL BLOCK ON'. Rang the Call-Blocker Handset from the blocked mobile number: RTNR (that's Ringing-Tone-No-Reply). CALL-BLOCKER Handset indicates call; but, doesn't ring. Reverting to Standby-Mode, a New-Call is indicated, with whatever Name you gave the blocked-number.THAT'LL DO !
