BT8500 just connected with DV

I have previously been using BT8500 cordless with 3 handsets for many years before recently connecting to Digital Voice (DV).

Now when I pick up the handset I initially get no dialling tone . Then I get the enter number command before making a call in the normal way. Receiving incoming calls is fine and much clearer.

I am wondering whether using DV now, is it normal to not get a dialling tone when lifting the handset to make a call?

It just that before when using BT8500 previously without DV , I was used to receive dialling tone before making a call.
