      <title>Digital Voice Migration</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please&amp;nbsp; can someone give me some advice. My mother is 89 and after a major bleed to the brain has an alarm pendant attached to her line. She does not have broadband and cannot afford it.&amp;nbsp; I have read various press releases that the pendant wont work with the new Digital voice service. She does not have a mobile.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;She would not be able to set up anything of a technical nature.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have tried to contact BT but none of the options are applicable.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I worry that her line will be cut off and she will be without a vital service.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;can anyone help please.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thank you&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You need to contact BT and ensure their records are updated for your mother's age and that she uses a medical pendant and that will ensure your mother is not moved to DV until the end of the move 2025&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The pendant manufacturer knows about the change and may already have a solution to change to DV&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>If she has a landline without any broadband , the latest date for the PSTN switch off is December 2025 , so there are still over two years to go , and the chances are that these landline only customers will be the last to migrate, should a individual notification of migration be provided, ( and AFAIK no phone only customer has been migrated) in the background before the change, the line would be converted into a very basic broadband line and a device provided for the phone instrument to plug into , there is no charge for the broadband service or device.&lt;BR /&gt;These alarm companies have known about the change to an all IP phone service for years and should be ensuring that the equipment they supply is compliant when the changeover happens you coukd always check that it is compliant and if not they need to change it to something that is.&lt;BR /&gt;TBH , there is no reason why something like this would not work just because of this change to IP , the presentation is no different, it’s just the location where the phone connects that changes .</description>

As&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/79043"&gt;@iniltous&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;has said, existing landline (phone) only users are going to be the very last to be migrated.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;By that time, the provision process for new phone only customers would have been well understood. Anyone now ordering a new phone only line, has to have BT supplied equipment fitted in their house, or BT have to use an interim method involving equipment in the exchange to present an analogue connection.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
