NO COLOUR SCREEN ON BT DIGITAL VOICE ESSENTIAL PHONE

I have the Essential Digital Voice BT phone. In the user guide it says you can adjust the colour on the screen but there is no such option in the display settings, it stays back and white. Maybe the colour option is only available on the BT Digital Voice Advance phone?
