Blocking individual numbers is a waste of time & as you've found, can't always be done. Instead, set up the Call Guardian on your phone so that anyone not on your contacts list, including withheld numbers, has to announce who they are before you're then offered the option to accept the call. 99% of scam/cold calls won't do that as they're auto-dialled. Those that do you can just ignore.

Good morning.

I have the BT 8600 system so I can block nuisance calls.

Over the last month I've been getting daily calls from someone who wants to sell me solar panels.

It's from a different number each time, which is a bit of a pain, but at least I can block them.

But I've now had a call from them with "No Number" in the display, so I can't block it as there's no number to block!

Is there a away around this, please?

Note, I'm not talking about number withheld, but No Number which I haven't seen before.

Does that phone model have Call Guardian, like the BT4600?

If so, then turning it on will force callers to announce themselves.

It does appear to do, according to the manual.

What is BT Call Blocking?
BT Call Blocking puts you back in control by allowing you to choose the
calls you want to take and those you want to block. This means that any
caller not on your contact list or already blocked is required to announce
their name prior to getting through, allowing you to choose which calls to
accept or reject.
• If you turn BT Call Blocking off, all calls will be allowed through, even if
they’re already on your blocked list. See page 23 to change settings.

@WorriedParent The answer is, to make sure its enabled, so withheld numbers will have to announce themselves, which stops automated calls.
