cannot change text size on BT Essential Digital Home Phone

Hi, the text is far to small but the manual says you can change the text size under settings -> display

but there is no such option on my phone for changing the text size ?

phone is type-a and on latest firmware version

Is that the manual that came with the phone or one found on the web? If the latter, make sure it's actually for your phone as BT use the "Essential" name for many products.

The manual for the phone you've quoted says you have to press Select when in Display to show the available options.

settings -> display -> select only shows these 3 options -

contrast

time format

screen saver

I purchased from the EE store here - https://store.ee.co.uk/products/bt-essential-digital-home-phone-090709-G4Z9.html

and product description says -

Accessibiilty features , such as Ringer boost and Large text

there are no accessibility features I can find on this phone !!! It is going to be difficult for BT to move older people over to digital voice...

I wonder if it's been lost in a software update, or your phone needs to update? Hopefully someone who's actually got one can chip in. Worst case I guess you can return it as it doesn't do what it says on the tin.

The original Essential Digital Home Phone does not allow you to change the size of the text.

The one shown in the above link must be a later model - does yours have a colour screen or monochrome?

It has a monochrome screen 😞

I'll look to get them returned as they are not as described
