Advance phone Z digital

Is advance phone z a digital voice phone? I was told that it is in Currys but I'm not sure.

I thought that a digital voice phone didn't need plugging into a phone line.

No, it isn't a Digital Voice phone. It is a standard cordless (DECT) phone.

The base station can however be simply plugged into the Smart Hub2 instead of the master socket if you have DV.

Actually there is no such thing as a "digital voice phone". There is a digital voice telephone system which carries voice messages over your broadband connection. Any corded phone (or corded base station) can be plugged into the green socket on the BT supplied Smarthub 2 and will work exactly as it did before when plugged into the mastersocket.
Currys telling you that the Phone z is a digital voice phone is just nonsense, but is an all too common example of their sales staff saying anything to get a sale.

Thank you. We have our phone plugged into an adapter as the hub is by the front door where the line comes in and we want the phone to stay in the loving room. I was looking at buying a digital voice phone to save having to get up to answer calls which are mostly scam these days. An ordinary cordless handset would use two plug sockets instead of one.

Err, yes there is.

BT supply either a basic or advanced with Alexa Digital Voice handset which connect directly to the built in DECT base station of the SH2.

I stand corrected then, but I doubt Currys could supply such a phone.
