I believe this is another case of BT blocking access to the site probably based on an update from one of the security site providers.

I can resolve the address using NSlookup, I can ping the address, but both Edge and Firefox are unable to connect to the site normally. If I change FF to use DNS over HTTPS then FF allows me access to the site.

I think you need to report this to BT as blocking a site they should not be.

You might want to review this thread as it is a similar example: Help!

I and and a fellow parish councillor, who is on EE, can no longer access our parish council website kinoultonparishcouncil.gov.uk either via broadband or mobile on BT or EE network. It was working fine until recently . However people using other ISPs and mobile providers can access the site. I have restarted my router and phone but still no joy. Any suggestions?

What error message do you get when you try to access the site?

In command prompt or in a terminal what do you get back when you execute the command

nslookup kinoultonparishcouncil.gov.uk

Hi @countrypaul and others in this discussion. My site seems to be working as of a couple of hours ago although I received a phone message from the BT Cardiff team saying that the problem has now been escalated to a tech team and that I should get an answer by Thursday !

Looking at the other thread https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/Help-BT-blocking-a-website-i-was-building/td-p/2408619 it seems that several sites had the same issue recently and there is no explanation as to how this was caused apart from the cryptic comment from @Steve_M at BT saying "I can’t say in detail what the issue is, in a public forum, but I think I’ve got to the bottom of it, have some new friendly contacts and will keep an eye on it until I’m happy.
Ultimately we are trying to keep us all safe from scams, malware and malicious actors. There is a balance to be had which we’ll find "
