Proof of address

I have been asked to provide a proof of address, such as a utilities bill or a phone / internet bill. How can I use my BT bill without making 'public' all the information, such as the phone numbers, usage, and costs... In other words, is there a 'proof of address' form that I can download from BT? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the community.

The company that is looking for the proof of address likely just needs the first page or so of the bill, showing your name and address. Just to make sure they're billing you at the correct address. You could score out the phone numbers.

Yes, but that requires me to have a printer, and probably a scanner to get it back to an e-format to send them... Doesn't BT do a 'bespoke' proof of address document?

I can't find any information relating to a bespoke proof of address request, @famillewilkinson.

Usually we're just asked for a copy of the bill, which can be used as a proof of address. You could try digitally redacting the document.

Just take a screenshot of the bill and edit it in 'Paint', comes with Windows.

@famillewilkinson I've just looked at my bill in MyBT. The first page shows NOTHING at all as to numbers called etc.

Try that and see!
