BT Shop became EE Store. EE Store is closing. No penioner discounts?

I’m an ex-employee of BT, and a long-time user of BT shop (now EE store). I received an email with an offer, also asking me to link my UIN to an EE ID. I followed the link (“Sign up here”), successfully logging into the ee.co.uk website.
I then clicked on “Link your UIN to your EE ID”, but it took me to what looks like a BT (current) employee login page (https://login.microsoftonline.com etc), asking for a (current) BT employee login. As I’m not a current BT employee, I cannot log in.

I queried this with the EE store, and got the following (somewhat confusing) answer:
"The EE Store is closing on 30th September. Any staff benefits are now with ee and you need to be an existing employee."
There's no notice of closure on the EE store website. Does anybody know what's happening - is it closing and/or does this mean that ex-employees will no longer get discounts and offers?

Hi, just to let you know I have have exactly the same problem.

I can't get anyone to talk to me to confirm that pensioner discounts have been removed.
