@Kimberlin -

We run an international payment aggregator and have identified that UK customers whose traffic routes through BT's DNS resolver 62.6.40.178 are consistently timing out when attempting to complete purchases on our merchants. This has been verified through our traffic analysis reports.

The timeout occurs at the DNS resolution stage itself, meaning the customer never even reaches our payment page — the connection stalls before anything loads ( page blank or not showing page).

We have confirmed this is isolated to this specific resolver IP. Customers on other DNS resolvers are transacting successfully without any issues.

Could BT please help us with the following:

Check if our domain is being filtered or flagged on this resolver — either via RPZ rules or any blocklist.

Confirm whether there are any known latency or connectivity issues with this resolver reaching international payment domains.

Advise on the right channel to get our domain whitelisted or the resolution issue corrected.

We are happy to share our domain details and traffic logs privately with BT's technical team to help investigate further.

Thank you in advance for your support.
