I have a large tree in need of removal very close to the Telegraph pole where 3 houses are serviced for phone lines and broadband. it will be mightily difficult not to avoid catching one of the lines. is it possible to to arrange for open reach to disconnect and reconnect the next day?

As this is a BT Retail Customer forum, you would need to contact Openreach.

https://www.openreach.com/building-developers-and-projects/altering-our-network

Quote from website "temporarily move overhead cables which are in the way of tree cutting or high vehicles"

Bear in mind there may be a charge for this.
