BT Forum, Firefox, private messages?

Hi,

I use Firefox for web browsing. I'm trying to view some old private messages in the BT Community forum but I can't see where to find them. I looked at the forum help (https://community.bt.com/t5/help/faqpage/title/pm) and it says to click on the envelope icon. I can't see an envelope icon.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Firefox 133.0, Windows 10

I know some people will think "just use Chrome" but I'd rather not, and I'd rather not use any of the Chromium based browsers either.

The email icon is at the top right of the page but as you are apparently new to the forum I fail to see how you will have any "old" messages.

Not new to forum. Member since since ‎29-03-2020 apparently. I haven't posted in the past because I haven't needed to or was not able to.

I have had a lot of trouble verifying my account and I have had private messages relating to that. It was those I wished to read again since it is unresolved. I don't get emails notifying me of replies, etc..

With regard to the screenshot, that is different to what I see.

@gg30340 Which version of Firefox are you using?

I am using Firefox 133.0.3.

It would appear that there is an issue with your forum account that forum members will not be able to fix.

I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem. Once they have read this they may be able to help. They will advise you by posting on this thread.

The link only works when you are logged in to the forum, which I assume you are.

Yes, I was.

But then...

Shortly after I'd posted my negative result I tried the link again, but got the same "Access Denied" page. Then I clciked back and the envelope icon had re-appearred, with a '3' in red on it. I can click on it and get to the private messages. There are 3 of them that are indicated as unread, ~~although I have read them in the past~~*. At least I can see them now.

Sorry if this has been a wild goose chase for you.

* - editted because I realised that I may not have actually clicked on the messages in the past.

Well, strange things have occurred. The envelope has appearred with a 3 on it.

But also when I look at my Firefox about it says 133.0.3 whereas I'd noted 133.0 before. So maybe that has helped? I don't know when it changed, I have closed Firefox down in between my messages.

Anyway, I can get to those messages now.

Thanks for those who looked at this. It seems to be working enough now, although I'm not certain why...
