Dear BT,

Just had a long conversation with BT as to when FTTP is planned to come to SY12 0**. Since requesting since 2014 the latest date is 2027.

Every year since 2014, I have asked BT when is FTTP being installed they always quote ' Next Year' .

Welcome the community to explain how a business can run on a roll on roll off programme to provide a FTTP network to the UK based on this strategic planning mechanism?

The local MP is making regular appearances in Parliament to establish why North Shropshire has no 5/4G signals to support the local community, compounded by limited choice of FTTP.

North Shropshire BT Customer

your post does not go to BT as an existing forum member I am sure you know

BT have no control over which areas openreach will instal full fibre so like others you just need to wait - or go to another ISP who does not use openreach

Dear DS,

Thanks for response having read a proportion of community responses on FTTP rollout a common theme arises Openreach have no such published plans and I entered the continual frustrations that BT rely on Openreach to deliver to the Governments request to install a network to the entire UK - a bit concerning no planning to a G7 country.

As is evident we are someway off that delivery and even more concerning no plans/finances exist on how to get there.

Do the Government have access to this forum?

If not I will mention to the local MP to request access.

Regards

Graham

This is a public forum and open to all but you must be a registered member to post on the forum

It would make no sense for openreach to publish future plans of fibre installation letting competitors know where they intend to build next

We had to pay about £40,000 as a group of residents last year to get Community Fibre's FTTP as there wa sno sign of FTTP on our local roads from BT. CF only operate in London - we are outer London - so that may be no use to anyone else. Over 10 years ago I had to raise about £20k just to get openreach to get the right kind of power to the local box so that our copper wires could watch TV and my son found a good openreach man who handled difficult cases to help. When i did the fundraising about a decade or more ago I was very impressed that neighbours paid even though paying meant those who didn't pay could also benefit from the better service.
