Hi

I've had exactly the same issue. Most problematic is that it affects Wemo devices and Nest thermostats, making them inoperational. I don't know how to set IP manually from these devices. You can change IP settings from the router but only if the device is disconnected and the device list has been fully refreshed by turning the router off and on again. Even then the IP settings revert to 10.0.1.XXX (Static).

Did you find a solution?

That IP range is allocated to devices connected to the open BTWifi hotspot network, so if your devices are connecting to BTWifi instead of the home SSID, then that would explain it.

Its possible that the devices are detecting the open BTWifi connection first, and getting their IP address from that. Then when they do eventually connect to the correct SSID, they no longer send a DHCP request to get the correct IP address.

The only way to prove that would be to opt out of BTWifi, assuming you are opted in. That would disable the open network.

Do you have any other devices on your network which may have a DHCP server active? Like a NAS, powerline adapters, or wireless access point.

The DHCP server on BTWifi, should not propagate onto the LAN, unless there is a firmware bug.

Then one of those devices has a DHCP server active, most likely the wireless access point, as they often have a DHCP server enabled to allow easy setup, but it must be disabled afterwards.

Disconnect the wireless access point and the powerline adapters, then see if you get the wrong IP address when you connect a computer directly to the home hub.

You now need to find out which device/adapter has a DHCP server enabled, and turn it off. There must only be one DHCP server active, and that is the BT Home Hub.
