Ethernet cable not being recognised

Hi

I have switched to BT today using a Smart Hub 2. All the devices I have connected to the hub wirelessly and plugged into the ports have been faultless, apart from one device, which, when plugged in to the port, the hub will not recognise the ethernet cable. I have tried all ports, and all ports work with other devices so it not the ports on the hub. The cable is connect to an inverter for solar panels. I am able to connect to the inverter with my phone and the inverter says, ethernet cable connected, so i'm baffled. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried a reset of your inverter?
