WiFi speed on different devices

My WiFi download speed on my phone is 68 but using the same website in the same location of the home, my laptop is showing speed of 18?

laptop is brand new. Phone is 3 years old?

why would this be?

Laptop connecting on the 2.4Ghz channel, phone on the 5Ghz channel?

Even although it is a new laptop, check that the wireless card drivers are up to date. Use the laptop or the card manufacturer's websites drivers rather than the Windows drivers.
