Just read that using Cat 7 cable might be the issue. Got a 7 as the place I bought it was out of Cat 6. Could that be the problem?

Slow ethernet to Smart Hub 2, mine doesn't have "smart mode"

I'm getting 180-250Mb/s on my ethernet connection to what I think is a Smart Hub 2, it's just been installed so presumably is the latest version. Wifi gets about double, both get 110Mb/s up. Interestingly my very first speed test was 360Mb/s but I've never seen that since. Using https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/details

PC Is an HP Z800 with dual 1Gb/s network cards and a nice new cable. I read on here that disabling "smart mode" can fix this. But my router home page doesn't look like the one here: https://www.bt.com/help/broadband/what-is-smart-setup-on-the-bt-hub--how-can-i-turn-it-on-and-off- I can find no mention of smart mode on any of the sub menus.

Any thoughts? I've also had a dead landline since this was installed but that's a different problem!

Yes it could be and indeed probably is.

P.S. That link you posted is a good few firmware updates out of date, Smart Setup is no longer an issue as it is permanently disabled
