Hi folks. First post, hoping for some advice 😀

I have just moved in to a new build house. I have BT Fibre 900 and the smart hub 2 is placed under the stairs, almost smack bang in the middle of the house.

wifi coverage is generally good, but not amazing and not close to the claimed download speeds ( understandably even more so the more I move away from the hub).

I have a few questions and I’d be very grateful for any thoughts/ advice:

1) I’m having a garden studio installed later this week. Its location will be roughly 5 metres from the house. The electrician sorting out the electrics (😜) has offered to chase an Ethernet cable from the studio to the house and this could then plug in to the router.

I’m ok with the chasing cable to the house, but don’t want it going through the house to under the stairs. It will look ugly for one.

Would investing in the BT discs be a good idea and would the the Ethernet cable then connect on to one of those?

2) would investing in a different setup be better? I’ve been looking at the google nest pro for Wi-Fi 6 ( there are 7 of us in the house!)

3) can I just plug google nest into my smart hub and then place the satellite nest units around the house and will this provide better coverage/ speed than the BT discs?

many thanks for any help. Please use really simple language if you reply as I’m by no means a technologist! 😀
