Provided you do not need BT Digital Voice, you can use any suitable third party router depending on which broadband service you have.

If you have VDSL, then you could use a separate modem and your own router.

Smart Hub 2 - Bridge Mode

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to set an BT Smart Hub 2 ( home not business ) into bridge mode?

I am thinking of getting a dedicated firewall to replace the Smart Hub and just want to pass all the traffic from the Smart Hub to the new device.

I've seen mentions of it in the forum but in the screenshots it talks about a setting which I don't see. The only way I could think of doing it was to put the IP address of the new device into the DMZ of the Smart Hub.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Bridge mode is not available on the Smart Hub 2.

So is that the end of that or is there something that can be done?

What about replacing the BT Smart Hub 2 with another device from maybe ASUS or Draytek?

Thanks.
