Can anyone recommend a router with a wifi on/off switch. I know I can turn off wireless in other ways, but I preferred my old router with an on/off switch. I was automatically sent Smart Hub 2 - BT don't appear to make them with an on/off switch, so was looking to buy another make. I rarely use wireless.

I think some TP Link models have an on/off button.

What broadband service do you have?

Do you have Digital Voice, if so, you need the Smart Hub2 for it to work.

It's not exactly onerous to turn off the WiFi on the hub via the management page.

It's very basic broadband - Home Essential Fibre - but suits me fine. I don't know what Digital Voice is, so I'm assuming I don't have it. I may look at the TP Link models - thanks for that. I may even consider a wired router.

Have a look at the TD W9970, a basic model that I think has a button.

If you need help with it, then I use that same router on ADSL, but it also works on VDSL.

Keep in mind also that if BT need to do any checks, They would more than likely need to use the smart hub 2 for any diagnostics tests.

Digital Voice means that it uses the telephone line on your smart hub 2 (This will be labeled Green)

When buying a new router, Make sure is VDSL2 with PPPoE compatible as PPPoE is needed to work on the bt network what is simple as
username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com
password: BT
VLAN 101
