Have you tried different DNS servers on the TP Link?

Intermittent DNS problems

Recurring DNS problems (with increasing frequency?) are making me pull out what little remaining hair I have left. I can be happily browsing, i.e. everything working fine, then when I visit a new site, e.g. www.telegraph.co.uk below, I get:

This happens with many websites, including at times google.com, bbc.com etc. i.e. ’popular’ websites, not strange/unusual sites.

It also happens when just moving between pages on the same website, e.g. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/tables to https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scores-fixtures

The DNS issue happens on all devices in the house – 3 x WiFi connected laptops, and 2 x wired PCs.

My setup is ONT to Smart Hub 2 to TP-Link router. SH2 is there just to support DV and all internet traffic is passed to my TP-Link router. SH2 - TP-Link has been setup as per recommendations in this forum (https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-phone-including-Digital/Digital-Voice-with-different-Router/m-p/2174115#M77935 ), i.e. SH2 essentially dumb with DHCP, UpNP, IPv6 off, only firewall and WiFi (but not used) on. Measured performance on the TP-Link side of the LAN matches exactly with the Full Fibre 100 150/29 Mbps.

It is as if the DNS server doesn’t respond in time as sometimes the page will recover itself and at other times I have to force several refreshes before it works.

In case it makes any difference, I am in Swindon.

Any suggestions most welcome.
