    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've swapped from Virgin media to BT - they installed it today.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All is working fine from all devices except for my JVC TV.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;JVC connects to phone's data via hotspot straight away, however, when I type in the long password (double checking and entered it probably 100x by now I actually remember the password) it still says not connected.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have tried:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Turning TV on and off (as in, unplugging and waiting more than just a minute)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Turning BT router on and off (also waited minutes)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Not sure what else there is I could do.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks in advance.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Basic check. Make sure you are using the wireless passkey and not the admin password.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Some devices do not like the dual wireless signal from the BTSmarthub. Try turning off the 5Ghz in the hub's management pages and then try connecting the TV.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If it connects you can then turn the 5Ghz signal back on.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;See link.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It is an old link about splitting the two signals, which you now can not do with the Smarthub 2 but it shows you how to get to the section where you can turn the 5GHz off.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Seems to be something inherent in JVC TVs that doesn't like BT Hubs.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Maybe try changing the WiFi password to something less complicated. I've no idea what the current criteria is for the Hub but try something shorter &amp;amp; with no special characters. The Hub will complain if it doesn't like it &amp;amp; hopefully give the minimum criteria.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Or as a test, you could set the phone hotspot to the same password as the default Hub &amp;amp; see if it will still connect.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;There have been issues in the past with Smart TVs, where the wireless does make a connection, but the TV is unable to get an IP address from the home hub.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;One solution you can try is to &lt;STRONG&gt;manually&lt;/STRONG&gt; configure the network settings on the TV.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;There should be two option, one would be automatic settings, and the other manual network settings.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you select the manual option, and use the following settings.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;IP address 192.168.1.50&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Default Gateway 192.168.1.254&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;DNS server 192.168.1.254&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hey&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i was thinking about the same. &amp;nbsp;JVC support bt and virgin media was as helpful as rule one of IT support&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;turn it off and on&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;lve narrowed it down to authentication I think&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I changed 2.5 and 5g channel settings and get a connection failed and the. Authentication failure&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;before nothing was happening&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;next thing I’m going to try is plug the tv into the router and see if it connects that way&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I factory reset the hub and trying to do the same with the tv&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;but yeah JVC not the best product to purchase that’s for sure&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The issue here isn't the WiFi, you bought a Turkish TV that are mass produced in to 3/4 different frames and they are just plain tripe.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Google Vestel group.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/281128"&gt;@davidwindle9&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/313053"&gt;@serendipity4344&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/104648"&gt;@gg30340&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/85653"&gt;@licquorice&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/46"&gt;@Keith_Beddoe&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sorry for tagging everyone&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;so I’ve resolved this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;the issue was JVC as **bleep** as they are doesn’t support 5ghz wifi.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So what I found was the router was sending a connection for 5ghz first, the tv was connecting &amp;nbsp;but not working.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;I could see the router had a connection to the tv via the mac filtering&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;so what I did was turned mac filtering on and forced the tv mac to use 2.4ghz&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i renamed the 5ghz network and gave it a different pwd&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Then on the tv disconnected the wifi and turned it off for 10 mins and back on&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i then scanned and found round the 2.4ghz network and boom&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;tv connected&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i disabled the max filter so all other devices could connect and it’s working ok now&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;hope this helps someone&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
