Wifi extender for BT Smart Hub 2

We have underfloor heating with an aluminium heat spreader under the floorboards, so the wifi signal between floors is very weak. Any suggestions for a low-cost, easy-to-set-up wifi extender for the Smart Hub 2? We're on Full Fibre 900. I have an XtraBoost extender from my old system but this doesn't connect to the Smart Hub using the WPS buttons.

I don't need the BT Disk ... just a low-cost unit for one room.

Thanks!

Don't get a WiFi repeater, have a look at the TP Link range of power line WiFi hotspots.

Thanks for the prompt reply, but I'd rather keep the cost down to that of a single extender rather than a powerline system.

I doubt there is much in it in terms of cost and a single device is always a bodge, but please yourself

You could utilise an old router if you have one, it's not hard to do but it does require a cable connection between the two routers.

Hi sorry to jump on this thread but hoping my question is relevant to the thread and will also answer my own curiousity.

If as you say I can use another router as a wifi extender and it needs to be hardwired could this connection be done with the inclusion of broadband extenders to allow for the ethernet connection between the two routers?

thanks

Carl

The easy way & most cost effective is to use the Powerline Adapters. My BT fibre router wont even reach into next room some 20Mtrs away, tried 2 they are "Rubbish". The BT powerline died now have the TP link pair, which gives 2 ethernet outputs for TV & Humax. Works great, go for it. Rgds.
