Modem Mode - Smart Hub 2 Replacement - Cheapest Options? - What about Business Smart Hub 2?

Hi all,

I've just moved over from Virgin and I'm pretty upset to find out the BT Smart Hub 2 can't be set up in Modem only mode. What on earth in 2023?

I was using 2, ASUS RT-AX92U AX6100 as a mesh network with the Virgin Hub as the building never works with ISP provided routers.

What's the cheapest way to get a Modem to work with my Asus Routers? I've seen that you can get a BT Business Smart Hub 2 for about £25 which seems pretty decent if it would allow BT to atleast offer some level of support.

I've seen lots of discussions on here, but none that give suggestions out right.

Of course if you are on FTTP, you don't need a modem, the ONT would connect via ethernet to one of the routers
