BT hub 2 new will not connect hp printer

Just moved from Talk talk to BT set Bt hub 2 up but will not connect to my HP 6000e printer

tried everything as has friends .Help can I attach my printer by Ethernet cable to it so will work

manually .Thank you

Have you factory reset the printer to clear out any Talk Talk settings and set it up from scratch?

Yes, you can connect via Ethernet if it has an Ethernet port.

The reset will probably work. Some HP printer drivers idiotically set the virtual printer port using the local IP address and not the printer host name. So if you switch suppliers and the router goes about assigning different IP addresses to devices, your printer stops working. Once you have it working, it may be worthwhile looking to see if there are any updated printer drivers.

*Owner of an HP SmartTank 550plus which suffered this very problem a year or two ago!

For some reasons my HP wireless printer does not work if it connects to a black disc. If it connects directly to the Smart HUB 2 then it works fine. In the hub manager the connection is described as WI-FI , when it connects to the disc connection is described as disc.

is this an HP problem or a BT problem ?
